Gujarat's initiatives and innovations in the startup sector and Banaskantha district's excellent work under ‘Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana’ were judged the winner of Prime Minister Award for Excellence in Public Administration.

Under PMKSY, Banaskantha administration has extended coverage of irrigation in district (Har Khet Me Pani) and improved water use efficiency (per drop more crop).

By PMKSY, they were also able to increase the micro-irrigation network by more than 80,000 hectare. All these helped to increase the gross agricultural area by 65,000 hectare and this had increased agricultural production by more than 3 lakh tonnes. This helped rural farmers to increase their income and in the overall development of district.
